The Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, which delivered both courage and inspiration to people around the world, have come to a close. As the Games are also a cultural festival, the Tokyo Metropol-itan Government had been unfolding its own cultural programs under the banner of Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL (TTF) over the period from the end of the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016 until the conclusion of the Tokyo 2020 Games in 2021.TTF called out to the public for a broad variety of programs that were innovative and imaginative or could accommodate a large number of people. Of a total of 2,436 submissions received from within and outside Japan, 13 were selected to be featured as special programs under the title of Tokyo Tokyo Festival Special 13. These special programs and a diversity of programs that overcame any boundaries of age, nationality, or disability, brought together as many as 39 million people participating in more than 160,000 activities. These 160,000 colorful beacons of culture continued to promote the appeal of Tokyo, and notably, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, were able to shine a bright light over the world and kindle hope in people’s hearts. We will pass down the experiences and legacies cultivated by the TTF to future genera-tions, and through the power of arts and culture, contribute to the happiness of people and boost the dynamism of our city.We have prepared a brochure that summarizes the initiatives and achievements of the TTF. I sincerely hope that this brochure will help you relive the excitement experienced during the festival, and for those of you who were unable to come, allow you to feel the passion generated by these programs as if you were actually there.In closing, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone—all who participated in the programs, and all who dedicated your efforts to making the TTF possible. Thank you very much. 東京2020オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会は、世界中に勇気と感動を届け、その幕を閉じました。オリンピック・パラリンピックは文化の祭典でもあり、東京都は、リオデジャネイロ2016大会後から2021年の東京2020大会終了までの間、「TokyoTokyo FESTIVAL」（ＴＴＦ）として独自の文化プログラムを展開しています。 斬新で独創的な企画や、より多くの方が参加できる企画を幅広く募り、国内外2,436件の応募から選定した特別な13の企画「Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL スペシャル１３」をはじめ、世代や国籍、障がいの有無を超えた多彩なプログラムを3900万人もの方々と紡ぐことができました。その総数は、16万件を超えています。東京の魅力を発信し続けた16万もの色とりどりの文化の灯は、特に、コロナ禍においては世界を明るく照らし、人々の心を支えることにもなりました。今後、TTFで培った経験やレガシーを次世代に引き継ぎ、芸術文化の力で人々の幸せに貢献し、更なる都市の躍動につなげてまいります。 この度、ＴＴＦの取組や実績をまとめた冊子を作成しました。 冊子で振り返ることで感動を再び味わっていただきたく、また、実際にはご覧になれなかった方々にも、本冊子を通してＴＴＦの創出した熱量を、臨場感を持って感じていただけることを願ってやみません。 最後になりますが、ＴＴＦの実施にあたり、御参加された皆様、御尽力賜りました全ての皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。006Koike Yuriko東京都知事／Governor of TokyoGreetingsご挨拶│
