A festival of traditional performing arts that utilises the entire area of Kagurazaka as a regional cultural resource for beginners, young people, overseas tourists and residents who are not familiar with traditional performing arts. In 2019, dance and music performances such as daikagura (street performance including shishimai lion dance and ball-juggling), geisha entertainment, hand puppet shows, storytelling of classic Japanese tales and sleight of hand magic tricks were enjoyed by 42,000 people over the course of two days. In 2020, the live event was cancelled due to COVID-19, and, as an alternative programme, four videos highlighting the city of Kagurazaka and its traditional performing arts were streamed. In 2021, various programmes such as performances of traditional Japanese dance, storytelling, rokyoku (traditional Japanese narrative singing), traditional music played on the shamisen and shakuhachi, and gagaku (old Japanese court music) were held without an audience and streamed online due to COVID-19.
